Lake and Dunes Worksheets (about 60 worksheets) that relate to southwest Michigan's River Valley School District environment and communities and to Lake Michigan and its beach and dunes. Also relevant to the general lake coasts of Michigan, Indiana, etc. The worksheets were made in an attempt to bridge the gap between supporting localness and diversity and following state mandates.  Although the worksheets are unique and locally customized, they also follow Michigan’s standardized testing requirements for second grade – specifically all the living organisms, solid earth, and fluid earth requirements for the physical sciences and all the history and geography requirements for the social sciences.  Additionally, the worksheets include language and math exercises too, but aren’t indicated as correlating to particular state requirements.

Pocket Pumpkin Press curriculum is based on the phenomenon that everything connects to everything. All social elements and all natural elements relate to each other. All social elements (health, economy, school, government, art, values, etc.), culture, and all natural elements (habitats, plants, animals, water, ground, air, etc.) link together.
